The bicycle trail is a part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area, which runs within Cuyahoga county (Cleveland area), and Summit County (Akron). This 20 mile crush stone bike trail passes by the base to an aquifer as shown in the background of this photo (where the canal had a water bridge over the river) along with numerous canal locks. The northern part of the trail has a canal historical museum, and working canal lock.
Brecksville City Park is a popular entry point onto
the trial, and is located midway. the The City Park is located just east of
Brecksville, Ohio on State Route 82 (on Chippiwa Rd.) The entrance to the park is located
immediately west of the large bridge which is pictured in the photograph.
Brecksville is located off of I-77 between I-480 & I-271. The rail service also
runs within this National Recreation Area from Akron to the Cleveland Area. |
